Transparent Proxy Mode

Transparent Proxy Mode is an alternative Proxy Mode configuration.  Like Direct Proxy Mode, only the internal interface is used, making iPrism look like any other single-interface host or device on the LAN. However, client configuration is not required.  Instead, traffic is directed by router or load-balancer to iPrism, by port number.  The advantage is "no client configuration" (like Bridge Mode), and limiting the traffic the iPrism see's to web traffic only (like Direct Proxy Mode).

Transparent Proxy Mode can be an improvement over Direct Proxy Mode in that it eases client administration, and it can be an improvement over Bridge Mode, if excessive network packet traffic appears to be "bogging down" or overloading the Bridge Mode configuration (less likely using Kernel Level Filtering in iPrism 4.1, but perhaps still possible).
