Proxy Mode requires configuring web browser clients to point to the iPrism Proxy Mode server. This can be accomplished with:
Manual client browser configuration
Automated client browser configuration (Group Policy)
Clients are typically configured to forward a URL request to iPrism on port 3128 (you may change this default). This means all HTTP/HTTPS network traffic is directed to iPrism. iPrism examines only the traffic it needs to filter (HTTP for example, but not email (SMTP)). The iPrism performs name resolution using iPrism configured DNS servers, and re-maps the Source-IP address of outbound packets to reflect iPrism's address, not the originating client. Internet destinations see all requests as coming from iPrism, not end-users.
To avoid client configuration, yet use Proxy Mode, you may configure "Transparent Proxy Mode"
Bridge Mode requires no client web browser configuration.
